How to Shoot Deadly Darts Amazon-Style

Before the invention of the bow and arrow, there was the atlatl—a spear-thrower capable of hurling large darts at over 100 mph. It was used long ago to pierce the thick hides of mammoths, and it's still used today in the Amazon Basin, as well as sports competitions.

Want to give the atlatl a shot? Kip Kay has an easy at-home solution for the deadly atlatl dart shooter, which is similar to what Aboriginals in Australia would refer to as a woomera.
